GIMP -GNU Image Manipulation Program

GIMP a photoshop alternative that has been around since. 1996 and is a confirmed Open-Source veteran. GIMP is available on multiple OS’s including Linux and Windows as of 1997, with version GIMP 1.1. It has been in continuous development since 96.

GIMP is a full featured photo editor with the ability to replace photoshop.

Because it is freely available and supported on both Windows and Linux is allows for greater collaboration. Especially within a club that doesn’t have a budget for expensive software.

It is a great tool for photo editing.

Scribus – Desktop Publishing Program

I have already done a separate post on this software. It is a publishing software for making newsletters, books, fliers, signs. Scribus is an open-source answer to Adobe’s Indesign. As well as other software. It is capable of producing professional content. See my other article here
