I came across this video today on Odysee. It shows (in a quick overview) how to build a D-Star / DMR hotspot using the Radioddity DG-77. It appears he has modified actually replaced the firmware of the radio to OpenGD77. To enable this to work. This isn’t something I have tried. Though it looks like a cheap clean way to get on D-Star or DMR.
This is probably something I will eventually try. There seem to be a whole new generation of cheap radios. Which allow homegrown or open-source firmware. This makes them very powerful as they can evolve to into more than just a 2-way radio.
