Just a quick post here today. I wanted to let everyone know that recently. HamRS Pro added a new feature that makes Hunting POTA activators’ easier. They added the ability for you to scan thru each of the Parks on the air spots automatically.

HamRS new feature for scanning pota activations

In the image to the right in the red circle you can see the new scan button and the drop down for the duration.

Turning on the scan mode will make the software step thru each of the spots holding for 10 seconds on each. This allows you to listen and stop the scan if you can hear activity on the frequency. So, you can monitor for park activation’s while doing other things. Like writing blog entries. Previously, you would have to keep selecting thru the spots manually.

Note: to use this feature you will need to have setup your radio for rig control. I use FLrig to handle that connection for me. I don’t believe the scan button appears unless you have rig control enabled. You also might need to be using the Pro version and not the free one. But the program is worth the price.

The pro version also allows you to upload directly to QRZ. Simplifying maintaining logs.

What else do you think HamRS should add to the app? I’m hoping they will add the ability to set a station ID in addition to the operator call.
