So, several months ago I tried out World Radio League. It looked pretty cool. However, I didn’t like that it was almost all web based. Which I still don’t like but feel the rig control functions have come along a bit. WRL now shows (not sure when it was added) settings for connecting it to wsjtx, n1mm, and n3fjp. Using any of the three should solve the offline problem.

My reasoning for looking at it again is. I need a better spotting tool. My primary logging software is HAMRS. Which is great but it only provides spots for POTA. Yes, it integrates flrig and flcluster which works well. But I don’t like waiting for spots to load as they happen in flcluster. (Maybe there are settings to be changing on the old school cluster side that I should look into)
So, that brings me back to re-evaluating WRL. But no matter how much I like it. Offline logging is mandatory. Which means if I’m going to use it. I really need to adopt one of the three supported software’s. However, I did notice WRL CAT Control seems to use a standard tcp communication interface to talk to other apps. It may have more in common with FLrig than I thought. Which could possibly allow me to continue using HAMRS for my non-POTA contacts???
