New Meshtastic application!

MeshWX Pro – get weather alerts on the Meshtastic and Mesh Core networks

This will be another short post, but I wanted to share this quickly—it’s a clear sign that Meshtastic is maturing as a network. We’re starting to see really practical applications built on top of it. Seeing automated tools like MeshWX pop up. Shows that the platform is evolving from a hobbyist network into true utility.

I haven’t had a chance to set it up myself yet, but my understanding is that you can flash a node—like a Heltec V3 or V4—with customized firmware directly from MeshWX. If that device has a network connection, it will pull alerts for your selected counties directly from the National Weather Service and broadcast them across the mesh. In short, a MeshWX node acts as a bridge between the internet-based NWS feed and off-grid radio users.

MeshWX is on my short list to try out, so there will definitely be more on this down the road.
